  • Prehospital Trauma Continuing Education: Intensive hands-on skill stations dedicated to tourniquet application, junctional packing, chest decompression, and critical trauma transport.

Georgia EMS Continuing Education Requirements

In Georgia, EMS license renewals occur on a 2-year cycle. Georgia requires a total of 40 hours of continuing education for most provider levels. The breakdown specified by the state is:

  • Pediatric Topics: 8 hours

  • Cardiovascular Topics: 4 hours (must include STEMI and Stroke)

  • Trauma Topics: 4 hours

  • General EMS Topics: 24 hours

Additionally, Georgia requires current CPR certification (and ACLS for Paramedics), but the hours spent taking standalone CPR/ACLS courses cannot be counted toward the 40 required CE hours.
