The Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) course trains EMS providers to assess and manage the most common and complex medical emergencies using a systematic, evidence-based approach. The program emphasizes critical thinking, differential diagnosis, and rapid decision-making.

Respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and endocrine emergencies
Sepsis, toxicology, and environmental emergencies

Provider Course

This 16-hour program is designed for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and physicians seeking advanced training in medical emergency assessment and management. Students who successfully complete the course earn a certificate of completion, a four-year AMLS provider wallet card, and 16 CAPCE hours. The course is available in a traditional classroom format or as a hybrid option with 8 hours online followed by 8 hours of in-person instruction.

Refresher Course

The 8-hour refresher is intended for participants who completed the full AMLS provider course within the last four years and hold a current AMLS provider card or certificate. Successful completion awards a certificate and 8 hours of CAPCE continuing education credit.

Online Modules

This 8-hour online module delivers the didactic portion of the program in a flexible, self-paced format. Participants who finish the module receive a certificate of completion and 8 hours of CAPCE credit.
