Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)

Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is the gold standard for battlefield trauma management and prehospital combat medicine. Developed by the U.S. Department of Defense through the Defense Health Agency and the Joint Trauma System, TCCC provides evidence-based, life-saving medical protocols designed for high-threat, austere, and tactical environments.

This program focuses on reducing preventable deaths by teaching critical interventions such as massive hemorrhage control, airway management, respiration support, and rapid casualty evacuation strategies. TCCC is recognized as the standard of care in combat casualty treatment and is continuously updated based on real-world battlefield data and outcomes.

All Service Members (Tier 1)

A foundational course designed to equip all personnel with critical life-saving skills. Training focuses on:

Tourniquet application and bleeding control
Casualty movement and extraction
Immediate response under direct threat
7 hours of course credit

Combat Lifesaver (Tier 2)

An advanced course for non-medical personnel supporting operations. This training expands on:

Tactical patient assessment
Airway and breathing interventions
Prolonged field care fundamentals
40 hours of course credit

Combat Medic/Corpsman (Tier 3)

A comprehensive program for medical professionals operating in combat or austere environments. Topics include:

Advanced trauma management
Medication administration and resuscitation
Extended casualty care and evacuation planning
63 hours of course credit
