The Geriatric Education for EMS (GEMS) course equips EMS professionals to meet the unique needs of older adult patients. The program explores age-related physiological changes, common geriatric conditions, and compassionate approaches to communication and care.
Training highlights include:

  • Assessing geriatric patients with complex or multiple conditions

  • Recognizing atypical presentations of illness and injury

  • Managing chronic diseases, falls, and cognitive changes

  • Providing safe transport and patient-centered care
