Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC)

The second edition of the Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) program from NAEMT provides training for EMS professionals and other prehospital responders on how to deliver medical care in civilian tactical settings.

This course covers the three main phases of tactical medical response, aligning them with standard EMS terminology:

Hot Zone / Direct Threat Care: Medical assistance provided while an active threat or dangerous situation is still present.
Warm Zone / Indirect Threat Care: Treatment given after the immediate threat has been reduced, though the environment remains potentially unsafe.
Cold Zone / Evacuation Care: Care administered during the removal or transport of patients away from the incident area to a secure location.

Provider Course

The NAEMT TECC Provider Course teaches evidence-based trauma care for high-threat environments. Participants gain hands-on experience in bleeding control, airway management, and casualty evacuation under fire or tactical conditions. Ideal for EMS, fire, law enforcement, and first responders seeking advanced tactical medicine skills. Graduates earn 16 CAPCE credit hours and national recognition in tactical emergency casualty care. (CAPCE Accredited – 16 hrs)

Refresher Course

The NAEMT TECC Refresher Course is perfect for certified providers wanting to renew or enhance their tactical medical knowledge. This interactive, scenario-based course reviews the latest TECC and TCCC guidelines, reinforces trauma management techniques, and ensures operational readiness in high-stress environments. Earn 8 CAPCE credit hours while staying current with life-saving tactical medicine updates. (CAPCE Accredited – 8 hrs)

TECC-LEO

The NAEMT TECC-LEO Course prepares law enforcement officers to deliver life-saving care in critical incidents. This course focuses on bleeding control, wound management, and casualty movement in active threat situations. Officers develop confidence to act quickly and effectively before EMS arrives. Participants earn 8 CAPCE credit hours and POST credit (where applicable). (CAPCE & POST Accredited – 8 hrs)
